Symbol Universe Tool#

search_symbol_universe runs a live OneTick WebAPI query to retrieve instrument symbols and their attributes (market, currency, security type, identifiers such as ISIN/MIC).

Parameters#

Parameter	Description
`start_date`	`YYYY-MM-DD` start date. Defaults to the previous trading day.
`end_date`	`YYYY-MM-DD` end date. Defaults to `start_date + 1 day`.
`filters`	Map of `{filter_name: value}` to narrow results. Available filters depend on the configured query module — see Programmable Queries.
`limit`	Requested maximum number of results (default `100`). Results are capped at `50` regardless of the value passed. When more rows match, the tool returns the total count and asks the model to narrow the query with filters rather than to request more.

Note

The queried date span is bounded by MAX_QUERY_SPAN_DAYS (default 1 day): the bundled query is a daily snapshot, so wide, inverted, or empty start_date / end_date ranges are clamped. Raise it for a non-snapshot custom query — see Programmable Queries.

Authentication#

The tool supports three auth modes via OTP_AUTH_MODE. See OneTick WebAPI authentication for the full configuration reference.

Timeout#

Queries are bounded by OTP_QUERY_TIMEOUT (default 120 seconds). A timed-out query returns a clear error message rather than blocking the worker indefinitely.
