Client setup#
Quick setup (SSO disabled) — by default the server accepts connections without authentication. This is suitable for local development or trusted internal networks. Simply point your client at http://localhost:8080/mcp and it connects immediately.
Production / publicly exposed — if the server is accessible over a network, enable SSO (SSO_ENABLED=true) so that only authenticated users can connect. The client will prompt for login through a browser-based flow; See MCP server authentication for SSO configuration.
Note
The server must be reachable from wherever the MCP client runs. For local development localhost is fine. For remote or shared deployments, expose the server via a public URL or internal hostname and use that in place of http://localhost:8080.
Claude Code#
Register the server with the claude mcp add command:
claude mcp add --transport http onetick http://localhost:8080/mcp
This writes an entry to your project’s .claude/settings.json. To add it globally (available in all projects) append the --scope user flag:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user onetick http://localhost:8080/mcp
Verify it was registered:
claude mcp list
The server will be available in the next Claude Code session. If SSO is enabled, the MCP server will require authentication — Claude Code will prompt you to complete the browser-based login flow before the server can be used. Next, connect a client to start using the tools. .. _cursor:

Any client that supports the Streamable HTTP MCP transport can connect to http://localhost:8080/mcp. Consult your client’s documentation for where to provide the server URL.
